How to Use the Drywall Calculator

What it accounts for

• Sheets are the area divided by the area of one sheet, rounded up with wastage.
• Joint tape is a rough allowance of about 1.2 m per square metre.
• Screws are a rough allowance of about 32 per square metre.

Getting a better number

Ceilings, many openings and awkward shapes waste more board, so raise the wastage allowance. Use longer sheets to reduce the number of joints where you can handle them.
